So Google has plans to turn Search Engines into Mind Readers. An article on News.com.au on Sunday quoted Engineering Director for Google Australia, Alan Noble, outlining the future plans for this search method, and stated that “Web search is about 10% solved”.

It is intriguing to consider how this may even be considered, and the potential negative aspects that will no doubt follow.

If you feel like a laugh, have a look at the FAQ on Google’s website on an “Option” for this technology that was mooted on a certain day in April 2000… Google MentalPlex

Only 8 years between fanciful humour and actual consideration for such a solution… Very interesting.

Imagine where collaboration goes when the technology takes us to this type of interface.

I’m interested in what others think about the potential issues and concerns (privacy, security etc) that would need to be considered.
