It’s been a while since I have blogged with work consuming me for the last 2 weeks, but main news items of interest during this time is the topic for today.

I’m interested to see the launch of the Lotus Bluehouse SaaS offering and the announcements of Microsoft’s New Azure O/S for the cloud, and will be interested to see how both of these offerings will translate to the reseller community.

Much of this heralds a future that may not favour those software resellers that can not easily move with the times. These are both strong offerings in the software as a service or software + service field, and resellers will need to understand the impacts of these models, and the efficiencies of scale they provide (competitively). It will be interesting to see what happens in the hosting space as well.

Also today I see LinkedIn has put its toe in the collaborative water with new LinkedIn Apps. Offering a range of applications that integrate with the LinkedIn Profiles. Some nice elements to combine with this very popular business networking site.
