Queensland ICT Industry Comes of Age March 10, 2009

With a Full Page Advertisement in today’s Courier Mail, the Queensland ICT Industry represented completely for the first time by every active Industry Association, has launched the 100,000 Jobs 100 Day Campaign in Brisbane today.

Addressing both the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition, the 70,000 strong industry in Qld (larger than mining and agriculture combined) promised to create another 30,000 jobs with the new Qld Government’s assistance over 3 years.

A 10 point plan has been detailed with highlights including a “Silicon Valley” like Qld Innovation Precinct, a Broadband Fibre Pathways Initiative, an Industry Apprenticeship Scheme, and several innovation and industry development funds.
